Crumbling Point

Created in 3 days as part of the Cookie Jam.
The theme was: Out of Control! We interpreted it through a cookie stuck on a kitchen counter, who literally tears pieces off himself to survive, until panic takes over and makes him lose all control.
The optional challenge, Under Pressure!, translates into a stress gauge that doesn't forgive.

One cookie, alone against waves of hungry ants.

Crumbling Point is a top-down action game where you play as a cookie trying to survive on a kitchen counter. Your only weapon: yourself. Every piece you throw weakens you, but can be picked up from the ground to heal you, as long as the ants haven't eaten it first.

Stay under pressure too long, and you'll lose all control.

Mechanics

Risk / Reward - Throwing a piece of yourself deals damage and costs you health. Picking it back up heals you and lowers your stress. But every piece on the ground is an invitation for the ants.

Dynamic size and agility - The lower your health, the more the cookie shrinks... and the faster it becomes. A smaller hitbox, perfect for slaloming between ants.

Stress and panic gauge - Taking hits raises your stress. At 100%, you lose all control: the cookie flees erratically in every direction, unable to act, until stress drops back to 0.

Ant AI - Ants always prefer eating a piece of cookie on the ground over chasing you, even interrupting an ongoing attack to rush toward it.

Successive waves - Face waves of increasingly numerous ants, and rack up points with every ant defeated.
